£340.00 for the Focus ST. What puzzles me I was paying about the same for my old motor 3 years ago and that was a Focus 1.8 Zetec.

£239 Fully comp
I've been driving 4 years and am 30.
I live in West Horndon, that's why it is so cheap. It was £720 in Hornchurch.

Re: How much is your car insurance?
I stuck my dad on the insurance, as a named driver, even though he will never drive the car, as it came up cheaper.

Re: How much is your car insurance?
Not long got a new one on PCP. New insurance (previous car was leased via work). I've had a couple of minor accidentsand my premium is less than what you've said you've been quoted. Got one of those telematics boxes and need to keep it in for 3 months so will see how that goes.

Not sure about the area; not the best but there are worse places with more crime.

Re: How much is your car insurance?
I phoned my insurer for a speculative quote on a change of vehicle and they said sorry but we won't be able to insure the other driver on the policy (my wife) for that class of vehicle. I asked why and it turns out that in spite of having her license for 3 1/2 years at that time they still had her registered as a provisional license holder... So that was corrected, I didn't end up buying the car in question and thought no more of it.

Imagine my surprise when a few days later I had a letter come through the door informing me that my premium was going UP on my current motor due to a recent adjustment to my policy. I gave them a call and they informed me that it was owing to my wife being a full license holder and not a PROVISIONAL license holder, when I questioned the logic of this they said that a provisional license holder would be safer because of they have to have someone qualified with them in the passenger seat, the fact that my wife could be that qualified person sat next to someone with no driving experience paying less for their insurance seemed lost on them.

I cancelled the policy.

Oh and £400

Re: How much is your car insurance?
Car insurance is easily one of the least profitable models an insurance company pedal. It's all about the specialty insurance so if you have a satellite about to take off on a maiden orbit they will be making their bucks from you instead.

Re: How much is your car insurance?
It's called redlining - underwriters will either increase or decrease your premium according to the risk profile of your area.

Some parts of Blackburn and East London are v expensive due to fraud committed in the area. Cash for crash gangs especially trigger premium rises.

Shop around though and you will get a good quote if you are a good risk. Try Hastings Direct or Bewiser.

By the way, we should all prepare for insurance rises after the Budget hiked insurers' taxes. They will pass they onto you.

Daewoo Kalos on an 03 plate but very clean and only 40k on clock with 2 lady owners hopefully grannies.

Cost me a grand and been v reliable since I bought it in Oct. Smalln cheap and nippy which I figured was the way to go in London these days plus I hate spending and owing money on cars.

Re: How much is your car insurance?
I live in Ilford (Barkingside) £580 fully comp and NCB protected.
Renewals are always much higher then the first year in my experience, so I end up just switching every year using Meerkat etc...
Also every time I've moved address last few years it's gone up so I must be moving to shitter and shitter areas, right?

Use the address of a friend or relative who lives elsewhere then.
